About the Trust
Pope Francis Catholic Multi Academy Trust was established by the Archbishop of Liverpool to provide the very best Catholic education for the young people in our schools.

Inspired by the Gospel and the teachings of Pope Francis, we are united in our mission to provide the very best Catholic education that encourages every person to strive, achieve and flourish, mindful of the needs of others, with no one left behind.
Our values, inspired by Pope Francis’ ministry and responding to the needs of those who we serve in our schools, are our way of working, learning, serving, and being. They inform our decisions, and guide us in our actions. They are our starting point for our future and our reflections on our past.
Our Trust was the first of the permanent Catholic MATs set up within the Archdiocese of Liverpool and originally had three special measures schools. The leaders within the schools have made good progress supported by the Trust and we were privileged to be joined by four primary schools in September 2024.
We are anticipating significant growth in the next few years, and this provides a real opportunity for you to shape the development of a growing Catholic Multi Academy Trust. We have a distinctive way of working within PFCMAT.
Our aim is to facilitate Catholic schools to retain their identity and history but to be supported by a multi academy trust that offers systems, services and a policy framework that allows all its schools and academies to flourish.
Pope Francis CMAT ensures all students receive an excellent Catholic education, knowing more, remembering more and achieving the best outcomes they can.
